The iPhone 18 Lineup: Models and Timeline
Apple split the iPhone 18 launch across two stages:
- iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max — launched September 9, 2026. Early reporting had pointed to a new A20 Pro chip, a variable-aperture main camera on the Pro Max, a larger battery, and one of the biggest displays in the lineup on the Pro Max, close to 6.9 inches.
- iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e — set to follow in spring 2027, alongside a new iPhone Air 2. Early estimates pointed to a 6.3-inch display for the iPhone 18 and a 6.1-inch display for the 18e.
- A foldable iPhone — Apple’s first folding iPhone, launched alongside the Pro models on September 9, 2026. Early reporting pointed to a book-style folding design with an inner screen close to 7.8 inches and an outer screen near 5.5 inches, priced above the rest of the lineup. What the New iPhone Sizes Mean for Your Displays
The three new phones differ enough in size and shape that a single fixed mount will not suit all of them:
- iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: the Pro is 150.0 mm tall and 71.9 mm wide, and the Pro Max is 163.4 mm tall and 78.0 mm wide. Both are 8.75 mm thick, so a device with adjustable arms can hold either one.
- iPhone Duo, closed: 117.8 mm tall, 84.1 mm wide and 11.3 mm thick, which makes it wider and thicker than either Pro model.
- iPhone Duo, open: 164.6 mm wide and 5.2 mm thick. Customers will want to open and close it on the display, so the device has to keep the phone secured through that movement.
